4 steps to help with the spiritual formation of the body

1. Release your body to God
It needs to be a definite action. You can take some time to read prayerfully a few Scriptures on the importance of the body. Then meditatively go over your body and surrender each part to God. Ask God to take charge of your body and to fill it with his life and use it for his purposes. Do this in a positive way.
2. No longer idolize your body
This means that you no longer make it the object of your ultimate concern. You take good care of your body, but only within the framework of the values laid out by God and taught and modeled to us by Jesus.
3. Don’t misuse your body
In other words, don’t harm your body, and don’t use your body to manipulate and control others. Remember that it is with your body that you glorify God.
4. Your body is to be honoured and properly cared for
Your body is holy; it is a temple of the Holy Spirit. So, you need to properly nourish, exercise and rest your body. With your body you can revel in the world that God has given you. Gratefully take pleasure in all your senses!
